AK Computing Terms and Conditions:

1. When enquiring into any IT solution with AK Computing we shall endeavour to provide a written quotation that is based on the customer’s requirements as outlined by the latter. It shall be the customer’s responsibility to ask for any clarification before entering into any agreement to provide any service.

2. Any such quotations will be sent to the customer either via surface mail, or electronic mail, if the customer has the facility.

3. Any prices quoted thereon will be subject to a 7-day lifespan from the date on any correspondence, and also will be subject to availability from Suppliers, and those prices may be subject to change without notice. However, every effort will be taken by AK Computing to advise the customer of any changes prior to any formal acceptance of the quotation.

4. Any acceptance of a quotation, either written or verbal, will imply a contract between AK Computing and the person making the acceptance. At this point of acceptance a deposit of 10% of the total order value (to a maximum of £60.00) shall be payable by the person(s) entering into that agreement to AK Computing. This deposit shall be non-returnable, should either party terminate the contract. However AK Computing will endeavour to sell on, or return to suppliers, any cancelled goods purchased by them in response to a written or verbal agreement to purchase from AK Computing. A part of this deposit may, in these circumstances only, be repaid to the customer.

5. Any equipment taken into the care of AK Computing for agreed repair, or alterations shall be subject of due care by the latter. However it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure any critical data contained on any IT equipment entrusted to AK Computing is backed up, and kept safely by the customer, in order that, if necessary, it can be restored when the IT equipment is returned to them. If this is not the case it shall be the customer’s responsibility to request this data be backed up by AK Computing prior to any work being carried out on any IT equipment removed from the customer’s premises - (an additional cost for the latter work may be levied by AK Computing, if not negotiated at initial quotation).

6. If an onsite warranty is in force with any PC built by AK Computing every effort will be taken by the latter to ensure a bonafide fault is rectified as soon as possible. If it is found that following a fault report by a customer, and upon any sudsequent site visit(s) made, that no items supplied by AK Computing are faulty a charge dependant on the number of site visits made and distance travelled - to a maximum cost of £50, will become payable by the customer.

(It should be noted that once a potential fault is reported to AK Computing every effort will be made by the latter to progress the fault via telephone/email communication in the first instance, in order to minimise the likelihood of a false fault report and wasted site visit).

7. As a small business our telephones are not manned on a 24x7 basis. We have an answerphone system and an alternative mobile number for urgent contact, AK Computing will endeavour to answer all messages on a priority basis (Usually the same day), but during annual holidays, bank holidays etc. this may not be possible and we will respond to any calls made during these times on an ASAP basis. AK Computing promises to give you the best possible service at all times.

8. Please note that missed appointments will be subject of our normal hourly rates (unless reasonable prior notice is given by either party).
